Unity Dance Showcase spectacular wows Vryheid audiences
Dancers from Unity Dance Studio took the stage, wowing the crowd with their dance moves, followed by models, who modelled clothing from a local fashion and beauty boutique, as well as exemplary performances by the singers from Kainos Sangstudio.
Thursday and Friday night saw a culmination of all three, as dancers, models, singers and musicians performed at Pionier High School in the Unity Dance Studio Showcase 2017.
Dance instructor and organiser of the event, Chané Bekker, would like to thank the sponsors and all who made the event possible.
Dance Studio donates to SPCA

UNITY Dance Studio's recent Showcase 2017 did not only provide two evenings of entertainment for proud parents as well as family, friends and fans of those who took part in the glamorous event, it also went on to give something back to the community in the form of donating to the Vryheid SPCA.
As stated in the advertising that led up to the showcase, ten percent of the proceeds of both evenings was set aside on a chilly Monday morning, dance instructor and organizer of the event, Chané Bekker, visited Vryheid SPCA to make good on her promise, handing over R1000-00 to the organisation that relies solely on public funding to take care of abused and abandoned animals.
Anke Slump takes on the South African Dance Awards

No limits for Anke.
NOT even the sky is the limit for Anke Slump, who recently took part in the SADI Dance Competition in Centurion, representing Unity Dance Studio.
Anke's current dance instructor, Chané Bekker describes this young talent as "a humble and gentle dancer" who has been dancing since the age of three, when her 'love affair' with dance began in the form of ballet classes. She has since added Modern, Hip-Hop and Tap Dance to her list.
"Anke is a very committed and passionate dancer and subsequently took part in numerous shows and competitions where she was rewarded for her efforts," states Chané Bekker proudly. "She recieved numerous awards and medals throughout the years and was awarded her Federation Colours for the past two years. This elegant dancer has also been scouted by SADI judges to travel to New Zealand and Dubai for the third time with the last competition."
Representing Unity Dance Studio at the prestigious SADI Competition at the end of May, Anke's achievements included gold for her Character Solo, gold for her Straight Solo and high silver for her Improvisation Solo. The talented young dancer also received her Federation Colours in the Pre-Amatuer section and she was scouted for the SADI Gloubal Tour to Dubai in 2018.
Jubeleum Basaar

UNITY dance studios talented dancers took part in a fun performance at the Jubeleum Basaar on July 29.
Thanks to everyone who came to watch and a special thanks to our talented dancers who came to show their support for the old age home!
Harrismith Eisteddfod

Unity Dance Studio had successful Eisteddfod this year. On Friday 18 August UDS competed at the Harrismith Eisteddfod 2017.

Modern Group RULE THE WORLD (Anja Muller, Niekie Muller, Madri Strauss & Rebekka Barnard) received an A+.

Hip-Hop
Boys & Girls
Ages 4+
INTERNATIONALLY accredited Dance Examinations
Hip-Hop dance includes a variety of styles, like old school hip-hop, breaking, popping and locking. Hip-hop is a very free style of dancing. Hip-hop is a very fun and unique way to discover your own style of dancing.
Modern - Jazz
Ages 4+
INTERNATIONALLY accredited Dance Examinations
Modern-Jazz dance uses gravity to the body’s advantage, unlike Ballet that goes against gravity in order to create a light and weightless feeling. In Modern Dance the control of the body’s centre is essential as all movement originates from one’s centre. Control of the body allows the maintaining of balance. Modern Dance classes are based on a moderate amount of stretching.

Selected Students
The studio also has performance groups (selected students) who take part in events, shows and competitions. If a student is selected for a performance group it is compulsory for a student to attend the technique class for the genre in which she/he is chosen for.
ACRO Dance
Ages 4+
Acro dance is centered on fundamental acrobatic technique to increase flexibility, strength, balance, coordination, endurance, timing, body awareness, self-discipline, and confidence.
Die Nasorg
Ages 4+
Unity offers dance classes at or for some of our local schools such as Die Nasorg. Unity offers Pre-school and Aftercare dance programmes as an extra activity by requiring these schools to either bring their students to the studio or Unity offering the classes at the schools facilities.
